Our brand and the Chiwaffle itself carry a deeply personal story, woven into the fabric of our identity through the Chiwaffle logo, which is a tribute to Chef Tasharra’s late mother. Named 'Pota Poulet'—meaning 'My Mother’s Chicken'—the logo and the dish honor the memory of a beloved parent whose recipe for fried chicken was passed down through generations. This familial connection is not just a nod to tradition but also a cornerstone of our authenticity and commitment to quality. In 2006, Chef Tasharra Moses brought this recipe along with her innovative waffle wrap concept to life, sharing it first in Westchester County, New York, and eventually introducing it to broader audiences in the Bronx and Manhattan.
